[SZÁRA] (1995-now) is a multi disciplinary artist known for her Music & Dance.[1]
Biography
[edit][SZÁRA] was born in Mostar, Bosnia & Hercegovina during the civil war and breakup of Yugoslavia. She immigrated as a refugee to New York in the late 90’s. She learned English as a second language ,holding onto her culture and first language throughout her upbringing thanks to her mother. Her childhood was very rough and through the roughness she used music , dancing , writing and nature in a therapeutic way to cope .she then moved to Bolivia with her new stepfather and learned her third language as Spanish , adapting a new culture . She came back to the states after 3 years of living in Bolivia, settling in New Mexico .steeped in mysticism and spirituality , she learned to DJ at age 17 and started dancing at music festivals alongside DJs at age 19.[2]
Career
[edit]Making her debut dance performance at Santa Cruz Music Festival with producer Thriftworks , she opened up a whole new world . SZÁRA continued on to perform alongside acts such as Clozee, Troyboi& many more .Over the years she taught herself to dance developing a following and expanding her skill set , it seemed only right to integrate her childhood dream of being a singer and dancer , to move into creating her own music. SZÁRA teamed up with Luke Estes of SugarBeats in creating her music project debuting her single Rosewater which grew very quickly gaining recognition. She is currently working on integrating her vocals and choreography for her live sets as well as DJing.[3]
