Shadu is the stage name of Kseniya Shadurska - Ukrainian singer and DJ.[1] Her discography has been diverse, focusing on multiple styles, spanning several genres, including synth-pop, electropop, house, Afro house and progressive house.[2][3][4] [5][6]
Early life
[edit]The singer was born in Ukraine in the town of Partenit (Crimea).[7] [8] At the age of 6 she started studying at a music school in the violin class and graduated with honors.[9] Shadu started her musical career in 2022.[10]Before that she was working as a director for Ukrainian TV channels.[11]
She has participated in “Holos Ukrayiny” music show[12] which is a part of the international syndication “The Voice” , “The Narodna Zirka” contest and is a prize-winner of Ukrainian music competitions.[13]
Shadu's debut single "Коли я" ("When I"), was released in 2022 and helped launch her music career; the song is in Ukrainian.[14][15][16]
In September 2022she presented her first EP, Gravity. It contained 5 tracks including: Gravity, Take Me Away, Au Au, and others.[17] It made it to the worldwide retrowave charts.[18] [19]
By 2023 the single Apologize was released by a U.S. record label.[20][21] The song brought the music of SHADUs to the American audience.[22][23]
The next EP Babylon, was released in the UK.[24] [25][26] The album consisted of three tracks: Dancer, Babylon, Somebody Again.[27]
June the 14th presents a SHADU her release 'Under the Sky' to IDYLIA label of Area Verde Music family.[28]
