Rosenfeld is Maya Kessler's debut novel. The book was first published in Hebrew & edited by Alma Cohen-Verdi and published in July 2022 by Kinneret Zmora-Bitan Dvir. Synopsis
[edit]At the center of the novel is a love story between overweight 55-year-old Teddy Rosenfeld, CEO of a commercial biotechnology company Oceana, and his employee Noa, a filmmaker who is significantly younger than him.[2] The book has many graphic sexual scenes, and the reviews described it as a fun book full of twists and sharp dialogues that breaks the boundaries of the genre.
Noa, the heroine of the novel, is looking to make her way in the professional filmmaking world. After meeting at a friend's wedding, for which she made a wedding film, a relationship develops between her and Teddy.
Noa joins Oceana as a marketing team video producer following the meeting. There are many gaps between Teddy and Noa: money, age, status and also free time and desire for this relationship. Teddy has an extensive career as well as many other pursuits and is not looking for a romantic relationship of any kind. Noa tries to lure Teddy into a relationship regardless.
As the plot develops, Noa's deep psychological motivations are revealed. The recovery from the damaged relationship pattern with Teddy may help her repair the relationship she had with her mother as a child.
