Ron Oxley originally from Colorado and raise in California was a famous animal trainer.

Most famous for training 'Gentle Ben' the bear from the name sake of the TV programme in the 1970's.

His animals worked in television and motion pictures including Cat People," "Ladyhawke," "Continental Divide," "Escape to Witch Mountain" and "Adventures of the Wilderness Family." In 1983, his lion Neil was the recipient of a Patsy award from the American Humane Society. continue to care for the animals at the ranch.

Ron died in 1985 leaving his son, Ron and grandson Ron, who later changed his name to Dom and lives in the UK, in Gloucestershire.
