The Robert Schuman building is a former building of the European Parliament. From its opening in 1973, until 1979, it acted as a seat of the European Parliament, whose sessions were split between Luxembourg City and Strasbourg. It hosted the European Parliament's first purpose built hemicycle.^[1] More recently, the building was used as an archive by the secretariat of the European Parliament. Following questions over its future, in June 2022 it was announced that it will be refurbished and repurposed as a cultural venue.^[2]
