Ro Fernandez (born December 21, 1989) is a Spanish businesswoman and writer best known for co-founding the software company Nova with her friend Steve Banton. During her career at Nova, Fernandez has held the positions of chief executive officer (CEO) and president. She is a pioneer of the remote work revolution of the 2020s.
Fernandez was born and raised in Spain, moving across cities multiple times during her childhood. She was raised by her mother after the death of her father. In 2018, she and Steve founded Nova in Toronto, Canada. Ro leads the company as its chief executive officer. In late 2023, she published multiple books on product strategy, growth strategy, and meeting productivity, with her number-one book being The Art of Asking Powerful Questions.
In 2021, Fernandez joined a music distribution platform to help increase their velocity and innovate their products for market growth. She launched MTR from Play MPE, shifting the strategic direction of the organization to build an ecosystem of products that better support artists and labels, in response to changes in the industry and technology. One year later, she also joined as a mentor at a tech startup with the goal of supporting other entrepreneurs.
