Risingholme is a Victorian homestead building in Opawa, a suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand. The building now serves as a community centre and an adult training centre. Risingholme is registered by Heritage New Zealand as a Category 2 historic building.

History
[edit]In 1858, 50 hectares (120 acres) of land in Opawa was to Mr. Arthur John and. It was later bought in 1863, Joshua Strange Williams selling the land the following year to William Reeves and his family. Reeves acquired ₤612 and constructed a homestead titled "Risingholme".[1][2]
In 1943, Sir John McKenzie purchased the Risingholme homestead "for the health, amusement and instruction of the public".
In 2016, the Risingholme was burned and largely had to be deconstructed.[3] Risingholme reopened three years later in 2019.
