Production
[edit]Before making Ripe!, Furrh and Mitchell primarily directed in music videos and commercials. They wrote an outline for Ripe! while on vacation at a farm in rural Catalonia in 2022.[1][2] They secured production from Barcelona-based company Japonica Films, and Juxtapose Studio co-founder Luke Anderson recruited his college friend and professional soccer player Kelley O'Hara and her fiancée Kameryn Stanhouse to executive produce the film.[1][3] O'Hara also advised the shoot on soccer elements.[3] Rita Roca was cast as Gloria after Furrh and Mitchell met her when she was a waitress at a restaurant in Spain.[2]
