Reza Baharvand (born 1992) is an Iranian writer and director in the field of cinema and theater. He graduated in theater from the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the University of Tehran and began his professional career in 2008.

Artistic Career

Baharvand has been active in theater as a writer and director, bringing numerous plays to the stage. In the 32nd Fajr Theater Festival, he received the award for Best Director in the radio theater category for his play Jenn Bacheh Dar Hejley-e Oryan.[1] In 2015, at the 18th Iran International University Theater Festival, his play Vaght-e Nahar (Lunchtime) was selected as a distinguished work and was honored for directing and stage design.[2] In the 38th Fajr Theater Festival, his play Shah Mahi (The King Fish) received honors in both writing and directing categories.[3] In 2017, he staged Samaee-Zadeh, which was met with popular acclaim.

Cinema and Television

Baharvand is known as the screenwriter of the drama series Lion Skin. Directed by Jamshid Mahmoudi and starring Shahab Hosseini, Hadi Hejazifar, and Pantea Bahram, this series premiered on the Filmnet platform on October 1, 2022, and was well received by viewers and critics.[4] He also co-wrote the script for the movie Nafas-Khor (Breath-eater) with Mohammad Kart, who directed the film.[5]
