Revolver Rita is an upcoming Tamil-language women-centric comedy film[1] written and directed by K. Chandru.[2] It is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy under Passion Studios and The Route.[3] The film stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead role alongside Radhika Sarathkumar, Redin Kingsley, Mime Gopi, Sendrayan, Super Subbarayan and others in supporting roles.[4][5] The music and background is composed by Sean Roldan.[6] The editing and cinematography are handled by Praveen K. L. and Dinesh Krishnan B, respectively.[7]

On 14 January 2023, on the occasion of pongal week, Samantha Ruth Prabhu[8] revealed the first look for the film titled Revolver Rita[9] named after the 1970 Tamil film by the same name starring Vijaya Lalitha and Jothilakshmi in the lead roles.[10] The first look featuring Keerthy Suresh in a vintage look[11] is directed by K. Chandru of Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham (2013) making his comeback as a director and bankrolled by Sudhan Sundaram under Passion Studios and Jagdish Palanisamy under The Route banner.[3] The film also stars Radhika Sarathkumar,[12] Redin Kingsley,[13] Mime Gopi, Sendrayan, stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan[4] and others in supporting roles.[5] The music and background is composed by Sean Roldan.[6] The technical crew comprises of Dinesh Krishnan B, Praveen K. L., Dhilip Subbarayan and Vinoth Rajkumar for handling cinematography, editing, stunt choreography and art direction respectively,[14] while Aishwarya Suresh serves as the creative producer.[7] On 17 October 2023, on the occasion of Keerthy's birthday, the makers released a title-teaser[6] cum glimpse video featuring the lead actor to portray a middle-class girl with an unknown dark side was revealed.[15][16]

Filming

Principal photography was planned to commence by early March-April 2023.[1] The filming got wrapped on 1 May 2024.[17][18]

Revolver Rita is reported to have a theatrical release in 2024.[8]

On 16 January 2023, Netflix announced that they have acquired the digital streaming rights of Revolver Rita along with a list of 14 other films.[19][20]
