History
[edit]Restaurant Chef Pillai was established in Bangalore in 2021 by Suresh Pillai. The second restaurant opened in 2022 at the Le Meridien hotel in Kochi, with an international branch following in Doha.[2][3]
Chef Pillai
[edit]Suresh Pillai is an Indian-born British chef and restaurateur. He worked as a chef de partie, sous-chef, and chef de cuisine at various restaurants in London for 14 years before returning to India to establish RCP. Pillai gained recognition after participating in the British reality TV show MasterChef: The Professionals in 2017.
Pillai was born in Thekkumbhagam, Kollam district, Kerala to Sasidharan Pillai and Radhamma. He began his culinary career in 1993 at the age of 17 as a waiter in Kollam, Kerala. Over the years, he worked in various prestigious establishments and eventually returned to India to become the corporate chef and culinary director of The Raviz Hotel in Kollam.[4][5][6]
