Rai Friuli Venezia Giulia (Rai Furlanija Julijska Krajina in Slovenian and Rai Friûl Vignesie Julie in Friulan) is the regional structure of Rai in the autonomous region Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The head office of the radio station is located in Trieste, with editorial offices located in Udine, Pordenone and Gorizia.

Since, by virtue of the Service Contract, part of the programming must be reserved for the linguistic minorities present on the regional territory, the structure is responsible for flanking the programming in Italian with a dedicated programme schedule in Slovenian, for which it has a dedicated editorial office, a television network (Rai 3 BIS FJK) and a radio network (Rai Radio Trst A). Rai FVG also produces radio and television programmes in Friulian language.

History

[edit]

The first radio station was opened in 1931 under the name Radio Trieste[1]. During the German occupation of the city (1943-1945) it assumed the name Radio Littorale Adriatico, and was broadcasting in German, Italian and Slovenian.
