History
[edit]Founded in 1996 by Dr Ng Chin Siau and his wife Foo Siew Juan, together with 17 other founding dentists, Q&M was established when Ng bought over a Dental Practice in Bukit Batok financed through the sale of his HDB flat. As a competitively-priced dental clinic, it became popular among Singaporeans, and by the year 2000, Q&M was operating 10 clinics across the island. [9][10]
Q&M continued to expand and in 2008, Q&M was incorporated as a private company limited by shares and underwent a restructuring exercise. Subsequently on 26th November 2009, Q&M Dental Group (Singapore) Limited was listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) on 26th November 2009, raising SGD$20,000,250 in its Initial Public Offering, with stocks trading at SGD$0.27 and a total of 74,075,000 shares issued.[6]
After the IPO listing, Q&M continued further expansion, with them opening around 5 clinics each year in Singapore, and venturing into the Malaysia and China markets.[11][3]
In 2019, the Q&M College of Dentistry was established and registered as a Private Education Institute in Singapore, located in their flagship City Square Mall clinic. It offers a two-year graduate diploma course in clinical dentistry, taught by a faculty of 32 lecturers.[12]
