Purba Baklia City Corporation High School, located in the center of the port city of Chittagong, has been making notable contributions to education since its establishment. This institution is effectively implementing many co-educational programs to enhance the intelligence and cognitive abilities of students, with the objective of fostering a better nation.

History[2]

In the context of education, Ward No. 18 of Chittagong city, specifically the Eastern Bakalia area, along with local dignitaries and the former Minister of Fisheries and Livestock, Mr. Alhaj Abdullah-Al-Noman, established Middle Baklia High School on January 17, 2003. However, since the school was not located in the Middle Baklia area, a petition signed by 50 local residents was submitted to the President on January 9, 2005, requesting a change in the school's name. When this request was presented by the headmaster at a meeting, the members unanimously agreed that the request was reasonable, and it was decided to rename the school East Baklia High School and update all relevant documents accordingly.

On December 17, 2005, a donation of 20 cent land was registered in the name of the school by Mr. Jasim Uddin Gong, Mr. Mohsin Gong, and Mr. Mohammad Ismail Gong. From its establishment until July 2009, the school operated with the support of local dignitaries, including notable contributors such as Mr. Alhaj Md Chayed, Mr. Alhaj Abdullah-Al-Noman, Mr. Alhaj Mohammad Yusuf, Mr. Alhaj Ali Azgar, Mr. Ahmed Ilyach, Mr. Alhaj Kamal Uddin, and Mr. Alhaj Mohammad Yusuf.

At the meeting of the school's Board of Directors on July 2, 2009, it was unanimously decided to hand over the school to the Chittagong City Corporation, citing the challenges of providing appropriate compensation to the teachers and the lengthy process of securing MPO affiliation. Following a suggestion from the Honorable Mayor, the headmaster, Mr. Aktar Hoshain, submitted a formal application to the mayor on August 30, 2009, and the mayor approved the school's acquisition on September 1, 2009. Subsequently, the donors registered 29 cent of land to the Chittagong City Corporation, and the school was officially acquired by the corporation on October 1, 2009. The headmaster received the acquisition letter, signed by the Chief Education Officer, on January 25, 2010.

Since January 2010, the school has operated under the regulations of the Chittagong City Corporation. The school first obtained academic recognition at the lower secondary level for five years, from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2014, and later for secondary education for three years, from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2015. Approval was granted to teach Humanities, Science, and Business Education, and the school was included in the list of MPOs at the lower secondary level as of October 23, 2019. Currently, the school employs a total of 13 teachers, including the head teacher, along with one office assistant and three fourth-class employees, serving a student body of 643.
