PropertyGuru is a digital property marketplace focused on the Southeast Asia market. Founded by Steve Melhuish and Jani Rautiainen. . They have offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. Founded in 2007, they were listed on the NYSE in 2022 after a SPAC merger and was delisted in 2024.
History
[edit]PropertyGuru is an online property marketplace in Southeast Asia where they have presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. Founded in 2007 by 2 expatriates, Steve Melhuish and Jani Rautiainen, who were living in Singapore at the time.
In 2011, they acquired Rumah.com which was Indonesia's number 1 property portal [1] and shut it down in 2023[2] as an exit from the Indonesia market
Funding
[edit]They have raised multiple rounds of funding such as a SGD 5 million line of credit in 2011[3], SGD 129 million round in 2015[4] and an IPO in 2022[5]
They were delisted in 2024 following a USD 1.1 million acquisition by EQT[6]
