Pratima Saha Mitra (Born March 14, 1950)is an award-winning playback singer, celebrated for her remarkable contributions to Indian music over a distinguished career spanning six decades. A trained Hindustani classical vocalist, she began her musical journey under the mentorship of legendary maestros, including Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh Jnan Prakash Ghosh
and Pandit Dr. Jamini Nath Ganguly. She has also studied Rabindra Sangeet under the guidance of Sumitra Sen,and Shyama Sangeet[1] from Dhananjay Bhattacharya, further enriching her musical repertoire.

As a Bachelor of Music and a senior artist, she continues to grace the airwaves, performing for All India Radio and Doordarshan [2] in Mumbai, solidifying her legacy as one of India's most respected and beloved singers.

[edit]Before relocating to Mumbai, Smt. Pratima Saha Mitra was a celebrated figure in the Bengali film industry, where she made a lasting impact with her enchanting voice. She has lent her talent to several blockbuster Bengali films, such as Shochimar Sansar, Ei To Sansar, Deeper Naam Tiya Rong, and Jibon Je Rokhom, starring Waheeda Rehman. She also has her own collection of music albums on YouTube which has been cherished by many.
Throughout her illustrious career, she has collaborated with some of the most renowned names in the industry, including iconic singers Manna Dey, Dhananjay Bhattacharya [3], and Hemant Kumar, as well as acclaimed composers like Ravindra Jain, Nachiketa Ghosh [4], Robin Chatterjee, Manabendra Mukhopadhyay [5], and Amol Mukherjee. She has also performed songs written by renowned lyricists such as Pulak Bandyopadhyay, Gauri Prasanna Mazumder [6], Bhabesh Gupta, and Prabir Majumdar. Dipak Kumar Mitra, MIE, MBA, CE. Their daughter, Devanjalee, MBA, MCom is a professional singer. She is privileged to count among her close friends eminent personalities such as (Bhajan Samrat) Anup Jalota, Kankana Banerjee (singer)[8], Pandit Nayan Ghosh, Hemlata (singer) [9], Shekhar Sen, Babul Bose (music composer), Late.
