Potato Research Institute (Korean: 감자연구소) is an upcoming South Korean television series starring Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh. It is scheduled to premiere on tvN in the first half of 2025.[1]
Synopsis
[edit]Potato Research Institute is a snarling, 'crazy' romantic comedy set in a mountain valley potato research institute. The hot romance between two perfectly opposite men and women, who bake, fry, and boil, brings pleasant laughter and a different kind of excitement.

Production

[edit]Director Kang Il-soo and writer Kim Ho-soo, who have shown a variety of emotions across genres such as Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung and Solomon's Perjury, have reunited to complete a different kind of romantic comedy.[2]
Casting
[edit]Kang Tae-oh, who is completing his military service, is reportedly considering appearing in the series as stated by his agency to Maeil Kyungje on March 18, 2024.[3] The next day, according to OSEN, Kang, who was discharged from the military on this day, is reported to have confirmed his appearance as his comeback project after his discharge.[4]
Filming
[edit]Principal photography began in the first half of 2024.
Release
[edit]Potato Research Institute is scheduled to premiere on tvN in the first half of 2025.[2]
