Draft:Polo (novel)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polo is a novel written by the English author Jilly Cooper. Published in 1991, it is the third book in Cooper's Rutshire Chronicles series.[1][2]

Perdita MacLeod is the heroine of the story, who starts out as a polo-obsessed schoolgirl and the plot follows her quest for success.[3][4] Perdita's polo pony in the novel is called Tero.[5] Her character is flawed, and takes out the lack of paternal care on her mother.[5] It features polo matches around the world, including Palm Beach, West Sussex and Buenos Aries.[6]

According to reviewers on Goodreads it is Cooper's best novel, with an average score of 4.2/5.[7] Scott McCracken described the novel as structured in a similar way to "a traditional romance narrative".[2]
