- Comment: The draft is largely based on a single source (Carnewschina), and somethings don't quite add up, for example, the number of employees. Why would a firm lay off 66 per cent of its workforce in two years' time? Best, --Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 12:51, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

Polestones Automobile is an NEV (New Energy Vehicle) startup. It is owned by Rox Motor, a company founded by Chang Jing.
History
[edit]In 2021, Chinese entrepreneur Chang Jing, founder of the popular vacuum cleaner company Roborock supported by the technology giant Xiaomi, invested the funds in the Rox Motor startup based in Shanghai. His goal was to implement the production of electrified, technologically advanced cars made of aluminum.[1] During the first year of operation, 1,800 people were employed, and contracts for technological cooperation were signed with companies such as Bosch, CATL, Continental and Valeo.[2] The first tests of pre-production prototypes began in November 2022.[2] In June 2023, the first official information about the production specification of the Rox Motor car was presented, in the development of which technological and production support was provided by the domestic company BAW.[3]
The official premiere of the first Rox Motor model took place in August 2023, when it was announced that it would be produced by Polestones Automobile, a division of Rox Motor, under the "Polestones" brand.[4] Polestones 01 took the form of a large SUV with an EREV hybrid drive, where the engine acts as a generator and extends the range in a combined cycle.[5] Production of the car officially began at the BAW plant in Beijing under a technological cooperation agreement at the end of October 2023, with deliveries starting a month later.[6]
