Pokua is a short film directed by Pure Akan and Jennifer Kesewa, who wrote the screenplay. The story follows Pokua, a girl who has a strained relationship with her mother. However, when she moves into a new neighborhood, she is comforted by a genuine friendship with her new neighbor, Ofori. Through this friendship, Pokua learns that love can come from anywhere, and that it isn't tied to those we share family ties with.

Filming
[edit]The filming of Pokua took place in Kumasi over three days in mid-July 2023. The film was edited, color graded, and completed in 2024.
