Draft:Plurilock Security Inc.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Plurilock Security Solutions Inc. is a multiple patent-holding cybersecurity services provider, software vendor, and value-added reseller serving federal, state, and local governments as well as Fortune 500 and Nasdaq-100 companies, particularly in the financial services and semiconductor sectors.[1]

History

[edit]

Plurilock was founded in 2016 in Victoria, British Columbia as a research spinout from a University of Victoria laboratory. The company offered identity and access management software relying on behavioral biometrics for identity authentication. Its initial DEFEND technology applied behavioral-biometric analysis to a user's regular mouse and keyboard activity,[2] providing an identity confirmation signal suitable for use in access control, security operations, or security orchestration platforms.

In 2020, Plurilock was listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, appearing under the stock ticker TSXV:PLUR.[3] Later that year, the company was listed on the OTC venture market as OTCQB:PLUR.[4]

In 2021, Plurilock acquired Torrance, California-based Aurora Systems Consulting, Inc.,[5] a services and solutions provider and reseller founded in 1990 and serving higher education, state government, and commercial clients across the western United States.[6]

In 2022, Plurilock acquired the assets and customer accounts of Branchburg, New Jersey-based Atrion Communications, inc.,[7] a services and solutions provider founded in 1985 and serving higher education, government, and commercial clients across the eastern United States.

In 2022, Plurilock acquired Integra Networks Corporation,[8] an Ottawa-based services and solutions provider and reseller founded in 1984 and focused primarily on business with the Government of Canada.

In 2022, Plurilock acquired the assets and customer accounts of Pune, India-based CloudCodes PTD Limited,[9] a proprietary software vendor offering single sign-on (SSO), cloud access security broker (CASB), and cloud data loss prevention (DLP) software.

In early 2023 Plurilock announced patent filings for and the later commercial availability of a security tool designed to secure business uses of generative artificial intelligence (AI) such as ChatGPT,[10] enabling companies to provide their users with generative AI access while providing guardrails against the leading of sensitive or confidential data into AI systems.

In mid 2023 Plurilock relaunched the CloudCodes SSO, CASB, and DLP software, together with the company’s new generative AI security technology and its more mature DEFEND behavioral biometrics technology, as the Plurilock AI cybersecurity platform.[11]

In 2024, Plurilock launched Plurilock Critical Services, a consolidated services and consulting offering resulting from the integration of the professional services teams the company gained in the Aurora, Atrion, and Integra acquisitions,[12] and specializing in high-end/high-difficulty management and cybersecurity consulting for enterprises.
