On February 6, 2014, five divers – Patrik Gronqvist, Jari Huotarinen, Vesa Rantanen, Jari Uusimaski, and Kai Kankanen – descended into the Pluragrotta cave in Norway. Huotarinen and Uusimaski died as a result of difficulties while traversing the cave.[1][2]
The incident was ultimately the subject of Diving into the Unknown, a 2016 Finnish film.[3]
Background
[edit]All five divers were from Finland.[4]
