Pleurad Xhafa (born 1984, Lushnje, Albania) is a visual artist and activist currently based in Tirana. He earned his MFA in 2012 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Xhafa is one of the founders of the DebatikCenter of Contemporary Art. His work results from a post-conceptual practice that operates on a documentary basis to visually and politically report on contemporary culture.
He is also a member of the art collective Manifesto.
Career
[edit]Early Projects
[edit]In 2014, Xhafa won the "Ardhje" Award for Young Visual Artists from Albania. His projects critically examine the effects of neoliberal political experiments.
