Pigpen (Korean: 돼지우리) is an upcoming South Korean television series based on a webtoon of the same name written by Kim Carnby and illustrated by Cheon Beom-sik, starring Jang Ki-yong, Cha Seung-won, Park Hee-soon, Roh Jeong-eui and Kim Dae-myung. It is scheduled to be broadcast in the first half of 2025.[1]
Synopsis
[edit]A man who, having lost his memory, is shipwrecked on a remote island. He discovers a quaint pension that seems out of place on the island. As he tries to escape the suspicious behavior of the mysterious family living in the pension and the threats against his life, his memories gradually return. The story unfolds as he faces conflicts over control of the island.[2]

- A man who loses his memories and steps foot on a strange island. In order to escape from the peculiar family, he reawakens his forgotten memories and faces a great secret.
- Cha Seung-won as Pension's Owner[1]
- The pension’s owner who follows the voice of God.
- Park Hee-soon as Bae Jung-ho[1]
- A father who tenaciously and desperately searches for traces of his missing son.
- Roh Jeong-eui as Romi[1]
- The pension’s mysterious eldest daughter. She stays by Jin Woo’s side and tries to lure him into leaving the island.
- Kim Dae-myung as Jin Tae-hee[1]
- The pension’s suspicious employee. Although he appears to be silently doing everything the owner tells him to, he endlessly drops hints on escape to Jin Woo.
- Bae Hae-sun as The wife of the Pension's Owner[3]
- Kim Ji-an as Yumi[4]
- The youngest daughter of the pension's owner.
Production and release

[edit]The Thriller drama based on a webtoon of the same name by written by Sweet Home writer, Kim Carnby and illustrated by Cheon Beom-sik. It was directed and screenwritten by Kim Sang-man, who directed Midnight FM and Girl Scout. It was produced by Studio N and Impetus Pictures.[5]
Casting
[edit]On May 24, 2024, it was reported that Cha Seung-won, Jang Ki-yong, Roh Jeong-eui and Kim Dae-myungare currently in discussions to be cast for the series.[6] On May 29, it was reported Kim Dong-hwi had joined the cast.[7]
On August 19, it was officially confirmed that Cha, Jang, Roh, and Kim to appear in the drama, alongside with Park Hee-soon[8]
On August 30, it was reported that Bae Hae-sun[3] and Kim Ji-an[4] had joined the cast.
Release
