History
[edit]Founding
[edit]People Tech Group's founder and CEO, T.G. Vishwa Prasad founded People Media Factory production house in 2017. The production company is based in India and the United States. Before entering feature films, the production house started with short films such as The Big One by Dev Pinn and Forced Orphan by V. N. Aditya.[2]
Films and success
[edit]The first feature film that was made under the banner was MLA (2018), directed by Upendra Madhav. In 2018, they also made Goodachari under the direction of debutant Sashi Kiran Tikka, W/O Ram under the direction of Vijay Yelakanti, and Silly Fellows under the direction of Srinivasa Rao Bhimineni.
In 2019, they made a few other successful films like Adhyaksha In America (2019) under the direction of Yoganadh Muddhan, Oh Baby under the direction of B V Nandini Reddy. and Venky Mama under the direction of Bobby Kolli. In 2020, they produced Aadya under the direction of K. M. Chaitanya, and Nishabdham under the direction of Hemant Madhukar. They continued their success in 2021 with the films, A1 Express and Raja Raja Chora, and the web series Kudi Yedamaithe.
In 2022, People Media Factory produced Karthikeya 2 which was a sequel to Karthikeya (2014). The film became the highest grossing film for the banner, collecting a worldwide gross of ₹121.5 crore (equivalent to ₹129 crore or US$15 million in 2023), and became one of the highest grossers of the year.[3] In early 2024, Vishwa had announced that the production house had fifteen projects in different stages of development. These included the films: The Raja Saab, G2, Manamey, Vishwam, SWAG, Mirai, Mr. Bachchan and Spirit.[4][5] Of these, currently only Manamey and Mr. Bachchan have released, with the former receiving mixed-to-positive reviews and becoming a box-office hit, while the latter faced widespread criticism and became a box-office disappointment.[6][7]
Other industries
[edit]Currently, although they have dubbed multiple of their movies into other Indian languages, like Hindi and Tamil, they have only bankrolled two films in the Kannada film industry. However, Vishwa has announced that he is going to launch four Kannada films in 2025, which is expected to increase PMF's foothold in other industries.[8]
