Pavao Štern (Varaždin, March 17, 1913 – Zagreb, March 20, 1976)[1] was a Croatian physician and pharmacologist. Štern is considered one of the discoverers of antihistamines.[2]

Even though Štern was Jewish, he was able to work in Croatia during World War Two.[3]

In 1961, Štern organized the First International Symposium on Substance P in Sarajevo.

Pavao Štern was born on March 17, 1913, in Varaždin, Croatia, to a Jewish family, and died March 20, 1976.[4] He was married to Bosiljka Srkoć, and they had one son, Milan Štern.[citation needed]
