Partin Bastan (Persian: پارتین باستان) (15 April 1983) was an Iranian sculptor and painter. He was a self-taught artist.

The statues of Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Peter Paul Rubens and Kamal-ol-molk in Iran, Tehran, Tajrish, [Ghaem], and the portrait of Mahsa Amini in Italy are examples of his works.

Biography Partin Bastan was born in the Tehran on 15 April 1983. His father, Asghar, was a Black smith in Tehran. When he was a child, he was very interested in painting and handicrafts, and with his mother's encouragement, he drew his thoughts on paper. From the age of five until he was a teenager he learned blacksmithing from his father, and even after many years, he still benefit from the experiences of that time in his profession (sculpture). As a child, He was very interested in the environment and animals, and He made a collection of bird and fish bones for himself. From an early age, He was interested in the anatomy and body structures of living things, and He read books on paleontology and zoology with great pleasure and wonder. His interest in biology and paleontology has been very effective in making his characters and ideas. Over time, He became proficient in recording his mindset as drawing on paper and then executing it as a volume. Despite his passion for sculpting, He decided to study English at university at the insistence of his family. However, he never lost his love for art and continued to pursue it in his free time. Partin participated in a course on cadaver dissection with a group of medical students from the University of Tehran to further his knowledge of anatomy, which has greatly influenced his sculpting. He is a self-taught artist and have not been academically trained.

Four classic statues in real size The modified Peter Paul Rubens statue of Rubens located in Belgium in the city of Antrop, to make this statue, Partin used a self-portrait that Robens drew of himself, and inspired his clothes from the statue of the artist that was installed in the city of Antwerp in Belgium by the sculptor Willem Geefs and made it more complete. Among Da Vinci's sculptures he chose the statue located in outside the Uffizi, Florence. That statue is made by Luigi Pampaloni (1791_1847). As He study of the body type and the anatomy of Leonardo He found that he had got the very strong hands! So Partin made his hand a little bigger and make them with more strong ligaments and muscles! For the face of his sculpture, He used his self-portrait, which was very challenging to create in a 3D realm and haveing the same passion and spirit! The sculpture of Vincent Van Gogh was made according to the self-portrait that Van Gogh drew of himself. He made a careful study of Van Gogh while his famous palette was in his hands. And finally, he made the statue of Iranian painter Kamal al-Molk. In these big projects, He wanted to record the most accurate and prominent feelings in these four artists. The faces of these sculptures have in a shown their feelings and thoughts in the best way, and the audience feels closeness and harmony with the artist in the best way. In Da Vinci's statue: thinking - depth of view - accuracy in choice. In the statue of Kamal ol-Molk: Emphasis on the principle of design and creation of ideas before starting painting. In the sculpture of Vincent van Gogh: the persistence of hard work and the breaking of hardships. nI the sculpture of Peter Rubens: a glorious end and the achievement of perfection is evident.

The sculpture of Mahsa Amini The sculpture of Mahsa Amini was created on the occasion of the XIV Florence Biennale, where it established itself as one of the most symbolic, powerful, and representative works on the theme "I Am You. Individual and Collective Identities in Contemporary Art and Design", so much so that it received a "Special Commendation from the Jury" and a worldwide media response: the video broadcast by the BBC, Iran International TV, Manoto Official TV, Radio Farda and Deutsche wellein which the artist sculpts and models the work together with his wife, during the Florence Biennale, had millions of views.

Arts of Democracy For defend democracy and the details that exist in countries where democracy does not exist, Partin and his wife organized an exhibition titled Arts of Democracy // Wings of Democracy in Bodø, Norway, the cultural capital of Europe in 2024. He made an iron sculpture and said, 'Iron is often used for weapons, but I have used it in art to create a statue of democracy.' This sculpture, standing three meters tall, represents the meaning of democracy. He has made a ballot box held by a hand that is voting, symbolizing all humanity. Through this sculpture, he conveys that if all people have the right to vote, the wings of democracy can lead everyone to a better life and better future.
