TRAX, officially known as Paris Metro, is the public transit system serving Paris, Texas, and the surrounding regions. It operates under the administration of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG), providing transportation options to both urban and rural communities. 1990's
[edit]When TRAX first launched in 1991, it primarily served the city of Paris with fixed-route bus services aimed at connecting key locations such as shopping areas, schools, healthcare facilities, and government offices. The introduction of a public transit system was a significant milestone for the area, which had long relied on private vehicles and limited local transit options. The initial fleet consisted of a few vehicles designed to serve the basic needs of commuters in the city.
2000s-2010s
[edit]TRAX expanded its operations, This expansion included the introduction of demand-response services, which allowed residents, particularly in rural and underserved areas, to book rides as needed. In addition to demand-response, TRAX began offering ADA paratransit services to comply with federal regulations and to ensure that individuals with disabilities could travel comfortably and independently. The system also began offering specialized services for veterans to help them access necessary services, funded through grants from the Texas Veterans Commission.

[edit]Instead of Operating 4 Routes, Paris Metro chose to operate 2 Routes. Route 1 Operates in a Clockwise Direction Around Downtown Paris & Paris's East End. & Route 2 Operates im a Counter-Clockwise Direction Around Paris's West End. The only located that Route 1 & 2 Meet up is @ Paris Metro TRAX Office, 1610 Clarksville St, Paris TX 75460.
