Oskar Plonka was born in Wrocław, Poland, on August 7, 1993. From a young age, he developed a passion for journalism and media, particularly focusing on cultural diversity and the experiences of immigrant communities. His Polish heritage and the experiences of the Polish diaspora inspired him to create content that connects Polish communities worldwide.[2]

Oskar is best known for creating and hosting the television program "Ola Polonia," which airs on TVP Polonia, a Polish national television channel owned by TVP. The show, which began broadcasting in November 2020, is the first in the history of Polish television to provide continuous coverage about the Polish diaspora in South America. "Ola Polonia" is presented in Polish, with Portuguese and Spanish subtitles to reach a broader audience.[3][4]

The program covers various topics related to Polish culture, history, and community events, offering a platform for the Polish diaspora in South America to share their stories and maintain a connection with their heritage. Since its inception, "Ola Polonia" has aired without interruption, serving as a cultural bridge between Poland and Polish communities abroad.[5]

Oskar Plonka has been recognized for his contributions to promoting Polish culture abroad. In 2023, he was honored by the Câmara Municipal de Curitiba (Curitiba City Council) with "Votos de Congratulações em Curitiba" for his work on "Ola Polonia," which has played a significant role in enhancing the visibility of Polish culture in Brazil.
