Oakland Senior High School is / was in Haines City, Florida. It served African American students. It is in the Oakland Neighborhood Business District. A historical marker commemorates the area's history. The school opened in 1928 and closed in 1968. Rattlers were the school mascot.[1]
Rosenwald provided funding for the school. A high school was added in 1930. A historical marker commemorates the school's history.[2]
The school campus occupied the block between Avenue E and Avenue D between 11th Street and 8th Street.[3] The school building was torn down ca 1977. A community center opened.
