The Northern Tasmania Cricket Association (NTCA) is the sporting administrator for cricket competitions and the development of cricket in northern Tasmania.
Established in 1886[1][2][3], the NTCA manages the NTCA Ground in Launceston and has member clubs from the greater Launceston area including:
- Launceston Cricket Club formed in 1841[4] (or possibly earlier in 1831 according to the Launceston Historical Society[5]),
- Riverside Cricket Club formed in 1948,
- Mowbray Cricket Club formed in 1955,
- South Launceston Cricket Club formed in 1907[6],
- Westbury Cricket Club.
The NTCA manages multiple competitions including senior male and female multi-day, one-day and T20 competitions and junior age-grade competitions and feeds into the Greater Northern Raiders Cricket Tasmania Premier League teams.
The senior competition previously had additional teams with George Town Cricket Club being removed from the competition in 2015 due to difficulties in recruiting senior and junior players and internal organisational issues contributing to the decision which was then repeated after the club entered the 'astroturf' Tasmanian Cricket League and resulted in the club folding for a short period [7][8][9][10].
