Niraj Sharma is a senior journalist who is known for his fight against toxicity on news channels in India. He is the owner and Editor-in-Chief of three news platforms namely BestMediaInfo.com[1] , NewsDrum.in[2][3][4][5]and BuzzInContent.com[6] .
Career
[edit]Sharma started his journalism career with the Hindi daily Punjab Kesri in 2001 and then joined Aaj Tak in 2002. He launched BestMediaInfo.com in 2010.[7]

[edit]In 2020, when the Indian television news channels were hounding Rhea Chakraborty over the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Sharma launched an editorial initiative through his portal BestMediaInfo.com where many top advertisers came on record to say that they will not advertise on the channels with toxic content.[8][9]
In the process, Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami threatened Sharma with legal notice and attracted sharp criticism from the industry.[10][11]
He has been quoted in several national and international publications as an expert on issues related to the media and entertainment industry.[12]
