Natsagdorj “George” Tserendorj (Mongolian: Нацагдорж Цэрэндорж) is a festival organizer and business executive in the music industry.[1] He is the founder and programmer of Playtime Music Festival, which is an annual outdoor music festival based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.[2] He is also the director of 1737 Entertainment, a music event promotion company.[1][3]

Career

Natsagdorj "George" Tserendorj founded Playtime Music Festival in 2002.[4] Playtime Festival is currently the largest and longest-running annual music festival in Mongolia.[5][6] According to Natsagdorj, the festival was first held as a concert in commemoration of the closure of his then underground rock club “X-Nation”, which was Mongolia’s first rock club. The first edition of the festival was held in 2002 with only 5 bands and 300 attendees.[7][8] In 2024, Playtime Festival had an estimate of 71,000 attendees during the span of 4 days in July.[9] The festival is now held at it's own outdoor venue named "Playtime Field" located in the Nalaikh area of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.[10]

Natsagdorj also worked as an economist with formal training in health policy and public finance in the public sector of Mongolia for over 18 years. Notably working at the Ministry of Finance (Mongolia), Ministry of Health (Mongolia) and the Asian Development Bank.[11]

Since 2016, Natsagdorj has been a Board Member of MOSCAP (Mongolian Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), representing music publishers in Mongolia.[1][12][3]

Natsagdorj is the founder and director of the music event promotion company 1737 Entertainment LLC. From 2023 onwards, 1737 Entertainment has hosted the concerts of artists Black Midi, Kings of Convenience and RIDE in Ulaanbaatar.
