Title of the film

[edit]

The title is officially acquired from producers of the 1969 film of the same name Nanak Nam Jahaz Hai[4] which won the 1969 National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi and National Film Award for Best Music Direction. It took 2 years to acquire the rights to use this title. [5]

Plot Summary

[edit]

The film is a family drama revolving around the life of Mukesh Rishi (Balwant), a successful entrepreneur and staunch atheist. His wife, Dolly Minhas (Gurpreet), is deeply religious, creating a household where love is abundant but often tested by their conflicting beliefs. Their children, portrayed by Gavie Chahal (Jaswinder) and Aman Dhaliwal (Sukhwinder), two young men of opposing personalities working their way through life and love. Jaswinder's romantic interest is played by Drishti Grewal (Mona).

The story intensifies with the presence of Vindu Dara Singh (Harnam), a family friend who insists that Balwant will one day experience the transformative power of faith. Balwant remains skeptical until a series of unforeseen events begin to challenge his atheism.

Adding to the family's turmoil is Sardar Sohi (Lakha), the antagonist with a personal vendetta against Balwant. Lakha's son is played by Yuvraj Aulakh (Malkeet), who aids his father in his sinister plans, further threatening the family's harmony. Lakha keeps secret of a crucial element of his conspiracy against Balwant, which is revealed near the end of the film.

As Balwant encounters escalating trials and tribulations, he undergoes a gradual transformation from a non-believer to someone who starts to appreciate the strength and resilience that faith can provide, especially in the face of adversity.[6]
