Mrs. Hashimi was born and raised in the United States. She is a graduate of the University of Houston, where she studied elementary education.

Career

Mrs. Hashimi is a Muslim elementary school teacher and the author of the Once Upon a Crescent podcast. The podcast is a collection of Islamic bedtime stories for children. Mrs. Hashimi's goal is to impart Islamic morals to kids through light-hearted storytelling.

Mrs. Hashimi started the Once Upon a Crescent podcast in 2020. She wanted to create a resource for Muslim parents to help them teach their children about Islamic values. The podcast has quickly become popular with Muslim families all over the world. [4][5][6][7][8][9]

Aqeelah & Ameer's Restaurant Aqeelah and her brother Ameer have a big imagination. During their “Restaurant, Restaurant,” pretend play, the kids learn about a beautiful ayah from the Quran. Mama shares the ayah where Allah mentions a snippet of Jannah, “We shall provide them in abundance with all kinds of fruit and meat, whatever they may desire,” [52:22]. This experience allows Aqeelah to wonder more about Jannah

Back to School Blues Zayneb and Amelia are getting ready for school. They are both excited, but also a little nervous. They talk about their new teachers, their new classmates, and what they are looking forward to learning.
The Huggable Tree Zunayrah is at the park with her family. She drops her snow cone on a tree root and starts to cry. Her dad helps her clean up and then she hugs the tree. She feels better after that.
Maryam's Big Move Maryam and her family are moving to a new home. Maryam is excited about her new room and her new school, but she is also sad to leave her old friends and neighbors behind. Her parents help her to adjust to her new home and she soon makes new friends.
Zayneb's Water Tricks Zayneb is at the pool with her new friend, Ayesha. Zayneb teaches Ayesha some water tricks, like how to do a backflip and a cannonball. Ayesha has a lot of fun learning the new tricks
