[edit]“Motor Spirit” was played sparingly throughout 2023. First teased during “Gaia” on February 25, it made its live debut on June 7 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison within a show-opening sequence of “Gaia” > “Motor Spirit” > “Gaia.” This debut featured a partial version, omitting the first section and beginning in the second. The band performed this version again on June 11 at The Salt Shed in Chicago during a longer jam of “Gaia” > “Motor Spirit” > “The Great Chain of Being” > “Gaia.” “Motor Spirit” reappeared on May 18, 2024, at the Forum Karlin in Prague, where the band played the complete song for the first time. This full performance was captured and later uploaded to the band’s YouTube channel with the title "motor spirits mikey drum cam fuckin rippin this shit." Typically performed on its own, sometimes as a closer, “Motor Spirit” has also been included in extended jams, notably returning to the “Gaia” sandwich in its entirety on May 22, 2024.
