Moníca Velásquez Villacís (b.1986) is an Ecuadorean investigative journalist who works for La Posta.[1] In 2023, she and fellow journalist Andersson Boscán fled Ecuador after a series of threats made against them and their families.[2]
In 2023, she and other editors of La Posta published a report alleging that the then-president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, was connected to drug trafficking.[2][1] The Inter American Press Association gave the piece an honourable mention in its 2023 News Coverage Award.[3]
Velásquez was a recipient of the International Women's Media Foundation Courage in Journalism Award.[1]
