Molly-Mae Sharpe (born 11 March 1998[1]) is an English professional footballer who plays as forward for Women's Championship club Crystal Palace.
Early life
[edit]Sharpe began playing football with her local club Thackley Juniors before joining the Academy of Leeds United at the age of 9.[2] Age 12 she moved to Bradford City. Originally a Midfielder, she made the switch to Striker for her Senior debut aged just 16.[3]
In only her first year she scored a hat-trick in the final of the West Riding County Cup which saw Bradford City crowned Champions over arch rivals Leeds United.[4]
College career
[edit]Sharpe moved to the US on a scholarship in 2015, joining Barry University in Miami.[citation needed]
She spent four years in Florida gaining a degree in Sport & Exercise Science. She was awarded Offensive Player of the Year in her last year.[5]
Club career

[edit]After Graduating from College in the US, she signed for Durham Women in the Women’s Championship. During which time she also completed a Master’s degree at the same time with a scholarship through the club.[6]
Durham finished second in the league in the Championship season of 2020/21, with Sharpe finishing the League's joint top scorer.[7]
Crystal Palace
[edit]For the 2021/22 season Sharpe made the move to London, joining Crystal Palace.[8]
Sharpe was an ever present in the Palace side which won promotion[9] to the Womens Super League in 2024 for the first time in the clubs history. She played in every game of Palace's 2023–24 season Championship winning season, in which she contributed 8 goals[10]including the final goal of the campaign which secured promotion to the Women's Super League. Sharpe was short-listed for Women's Championship Player of the 2023/24 Season[11] and Won Player of the Month for March 2024 after scoring 3 goals in 4 games.[12]
Playing style
[edit]Sharpe operates primarily as a winger on either the right or left side of the field or as a striker. She is a frequent goalscorer for her clubs.[citation needed]
Personal life
[edit]Sharpe grew up supporting Bradford City.[13] In her spare time she is a keen golfer.[citation needed]
