Mitia Osman is a prominent figure in the publishing industry, particularly known for her contributions to children's literature in Bangladesh. She is the founder, CEO, and publisher of Mayurpankhi, the first children's publishing house established by a woman in Bangladesh.
Early Life and Education: Mitia Osman, a prominent figure in the publishing industry of Bangladesh, holds a business degree and completed the Columbia Publishing Course at Oxford.
Career: She serves as the Executive Director at Agamee Prakashani, a leading publishing house in Bangladesh. In 2014, she founded Mayurpankhi, a children's book publishing company. Under her leadership, Mayurpankhi has been recognized thrice for publishing the highest number of quality children’s books in Bangladesh by Bangla Academy.
Achievements: Mitia has actively participated in numerous international publishing events, conferences, and book fairs, contributing significantly to the development of children's literature globally.
Osman has been recognized for her dedication to promoting gender diversity in publishing both locally and internationally. In 2024, she received the PublisHer Emerging Leader Award at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, highlighting her leadership and innovative contributions to the industry.
