The india-UAE Joint Military Exercise 'Desert Cyclone' is a collaborative military exercise aimed at enhancing interoperability and sharing best practices in urban operations between India and the UAE. The exercise involves a contingent of 45 personnel from both the UAE Land Forces and the Indian Army. The UAE contingent, represented by troops from the Zayed First Brigade, aims to collaborate with the Indian Army's Battalion from the Mechanised Infantry Regiment.[1]

The primary objective of the exercise is to improve interoperability in Sub-conventional Operations, focusing on Fighting in Built-Up Area (FIBUA) within desert and semi-desert terrain, aligning with Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter on Peace Keeping Operations. The exercise intends to foster cooperation and interoperability, especially in Peace Keeping Operations.
