Biography

[edit]

Mihajlo Antić was born on January 11, 2004, in the village of Dragovac near Požarevac. He attended the Economic and Trade School in Požarevac, majoring in Commerce. From an early age, he developed an interest in Serbian history.

Inspired by stories told by his grandfather, Mihajlo began writing his first novel, "Dogovor hladne noći"[1], at the age of 16. The novel is thematically based on his great-great-grandfather, Svetozar Antić, a Serbian soldier who participated in the Salonica Front during World War I. The novel was published in 2020 in Požarevac and received widespread attention through numerous public presentations in the Braničevo District.

As a passionate patriot, Mihajlo began writing a second novel about his hometown of Dragovac, titled "Legenda o Dragovici".

As a young writer and poet, Mihajlo is a welcome guest at cultural programs, particularly in the Srboljub Mitić Library in Malo Crniće, which published the second edition of his novel "Dogovor hladne noći".

In addition to novels, he writes poetry. His works are often recited at cultural events. At the spiritual poetry evening in Šapin, titled "Na gori Preobraženja" (On the Mountain of Transfiguration), he is regularly invited as a young poet. For this church, he wrote the poem "Ovde stani mili rode" (Stop Here, My Dear People).

Mihajlo is currently collecting information and writing his second novel, "Legenda o Dragovici". The book will explore the history of Dragovac and its monastery, which historical records suggest was destroyed either by the Morava River or burned down by the Ottomans[2].
