Michael Paul Patrick O'Tighearnaigh (born January 1, 1964), known as Mick Tiernay, was an Irish professional wrestler and MMA fighter worked in the World Wrestling Federation, Power Pro Wrestling and Catch Wrestling Association.[2]
Professional wrestling career
[edit]Tierney started wrestling in 1994 after having a background in judo. Trained by Finnish pro wrestler and MMA figther Tony Halme. He appeared on UWF Blackjack Brawl losing to Samson.[3]
In 1996, he wrestled in Germany for Catch Wrestling Association.
In 1998, Tierney signed a WWF developmental deal where he worked for World Wrestling Alliance in Massachusetts and worked a few dark matches for WWF.[4] In 1999, he worked for Power Pro Wrestling in Memphis, Tennessee. He feuded with a young Kurt Angle.
Tiernay worked for Battlarts in Japan and the independents until retiring in 2001.
Personal life
[edit]Tiernay currently works at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where he is the project manager for new construction projects on campus.[5]
