Michael Valenti is an American security engineer known for his work in application, network, and infrastructure security. He has contributed to securing high-profile streaming platforms, sports events, and entertainment content.
Early Career
Valenti began his career at Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) at the age of 20, making him one of the youngest individuals ever employed by the organization. During his seven-year tenure, he served as the head of internal security, overseeing the protection of MLB’s applications, networks, and official club websites.
In addition to routine operations, Valenti supported the security infrastructure at multiple high-profile events, including Major League Baseball All-Star Games and World Series events. His responsibilities extended to safeguarding the streaming infrastructure provided by MLBAM to various third-party clients, such as the National Hockey League, World Wrestling Entertainment, ESPN, CBS, FOX, Sony, HBO, Hulu, and the Ice Network. Notably, he worked on securing HBO’s Game of Thrones streaming platform to prevent unauthorized access and leaks. Consulting Career
After leaving MLBAM, Valenti transitioned into a consulting role at a security firm, where he provided a range of services, including penetration testing, physical security assessments, network and infrastructure security, virtual CISO services, and fire safety evaluations. He currently holds the position of Senior Principal Security Engineer at iCIMS[1], where he leads the company’s application security program, working to ensure its products remain free from vulnerabilities. His responsibilities may include developing secure coding practices, conducting threat modeling, performing security assessments, and helping guide the organization’s long-term security strategy. Valenti has participated in numerous public speaking engagements, including events affiliated with InfraGard. In 2024, he spoke at the MITRE headquarters in New Jersey, contributing insights and thought leadership in the field of cybersecurity.
