Mayatrix & The Psychics is a Western Australian psychedelic rock[1] band, founded in 2013 as Moana by frontwoman Moana Lutton aka Moana Mayatrix.[2]
The band frequently plays across Australia, including as support acts for Venom Inc[3], Ocean Alley[4] and another Perth local artist Abbe May. In 2024, they were the national support act for English hard-rock band The Cult[5], including a performance at the Sydney Opera House.
Reception
[edit]X-Press Magazine scored debut album In The Allure[6] a 7 out of 10[7], and featured EP A Mouthful Of Birds[8] among 2014’s Best Album.[9]
2022’s Temple[10] was nominated for WAM Song Of The Year in the heavy/metal category.[11]
