Maxim Zorkin is a Dutch épée fencer and coach. Throughout his sporting career, he has significantly contributed to both fencing and modern pentathlon in Europe.
Sports Career
[edit]Maxim Zorkin began his career in fencing, achieving consistent results on the international stage. In the middle of his career, he actively participated in modern pentathlon, contributing to the development of the sport in Europe. Zorkin became the Dutch champion in modern pentathlon twice, in 2006 and 2007.[1]
For his contributions to pentathlon, Maxim was awarded the Nationale Vijfkampkruis (Blue Cross) by the Dutch Olympic Committee NOC*NSF.[2]
After his success in pentathlon, Maxim returned to fencing, focusing on competitive participation. Over his career, Zorkin has represented multiple countries, including Kazakhstan. Currently, he represents the Netherlands in both national and international competitions.[3]
Maxim Zorkin is presently the Dutch épée champion in all veterans' age categories.[4][5]
