Matt Deans is an Australian journalist, photographer and media and communications specialist. He served as the editor of The Coffs Coast Advocate between 2018 and 2020. He regularly writes for The Daily Telegraph, Courier Mail and News Corp regional titles and previously worked for Channel 9 news subsidiary NBN News based in Newcastle and prior to that Fairfax Rural Press titles. As a photographer his work has featured in the The Sun and New York Times. A photo of a bottlenose dolphin launching into the air captured off the coast of Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia entitled 'Dolphin Dreaming' was awarded in the 2015 National Geographic Environmental Photographer of the Year awards.
