Matchbox is an upcoming American adventure comedy film directed by Sam Hargrave and written by David Coggeshall and Jonathan Tropper, based on the toy brand of the same name. It stars John Cena and Jessica Biel.

[edit]In May 2024, Skydance Media and Mattel Films were developing a live-action film based on the toy brand Matchbox. Sam Hargrave had been hired to direct the film, and David Coggeshall and Jonathan Tropper were penning the screenplay.[1] In September, John Cena joined the cast in the lead role.[2] In November, Jessica Biel joined the cast in an undisclosed role.[3]
