In November 2021, it was reported that Amazon Studios was negotiating to develop a TV series based on the Mass Effect video games for streaming on Prime Video.[1] In December 2021, Henry Cavill shared his desire to be cast in the TV series.[2] After being dormant for several years, Amazon MGM Studios secured the rights, and officially began development of the series. Daniel Casey would write and executive produce along with Karim Zrei, Ari Arad, and Michael Gamble.[3]
