Mark Hachem[1] is a contemporary and kinetic collector and art dealer. He is the owner of the Mark Hachem galleries in Paris and Beirut.

Early life and education

Mark Hachem was born in Beirut on April 5th, 1965. He received his diploma in business management and his Masters in History of Art from La Sorbonne, Paris. He completed his exchange program training in 1993, in Washington, D.C

Career

At the age of thirty, Mark Hachem opened his first gallery in 1996 at the Marais in Paris. He represented Latin American artists such as Wilfredo Lam, Roberto Matta, Cruz-Diez, Soto, and Perez Flores, as well as artists from other backgrounds such as Corneille, Arman, Hiquily and Vasarely.

In 2007, Mark Hachem Gallery flourished further following the opening of the new space on Madison Avenue. Mark therefore settled in New York and chose to focus on the new technologies of image-making, photography and digital tools.

In 2010, Mark Hachem[2] Beirut opened its doors, and the new space was inaugurated with a shows focusing on middle Eastern modern artists such as Alfred Basbsous, Hamed Abdalla, Helen Khal and contemporary middle Eastern artists as Hussein Madi, and Chaouki Chamoun.

In 2014 Mark Hachem curated the "Bridge to Palestine" exhibition in Beirut and in 2019 a solo exhibition in Heydar-Aliyev Museum, the National Museum of Azerbaijan.
