Margot Inge Kahl Pingel ( born 9 January 1961 Puerto Varas ) is a  commercial engineer and television presenter . She became known for presenting the program Buenos días a todos between 1992 and 2002.

Life

[edit]

Margot Kahl studied Business Administration at the University of Chile. She worked as a model for the magazine Paula . In this way she caught the attention of the executives of Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN), who in 1984 hired her as a reader of the afternoon edition of the news program 60 Minutes (known as "Edition One") alongside Eduardo Cruz-Johnson.

In 1991 she returned to TVN, as a reader of the First Edition of 24 hours accompanying Eduardo Cruz-Johnson . The following year, she became presenter, along with Jorge Hevia , of the morning program Buenos días a todos , a period that was the highest point of her television career and with the greatest success of the magazine program. In this program she established herself as "the most credible woman in Chile" (according to a study by the BBDO agency in 1999), which brought her great benefits when it came to being the face of advertising campaigns for major brands such as Ariel , Telefónica del Sur , and Almacenes París . She was also recognized by the Association of Entertainment Journalists (APES) as the "Revelation of the Year".

In February 2002, Margot Kahl did not renew her contract with TVN, being replaced in Buenos días a todos by Karen Doggenweiler , and signed a five-year contract with Canal 13. The Catholic channel would hire her to co-host the second season of the program El lunes sin falla , a prime-time space hosted by Álvaro Salas and Raúl Alcaíno . However, the program was never made because Alcaíno resigned from Canal 13, while Salas was against sharing the scene with Kahl, once he found out the host's monthly salary.
